CORINA KINNEAR
Classical / Contemporary
Ballet
Corina Kinnear started her
training at Parker Dance Academy, and then pre-professionally at the
International Ballet School under Mark Carlson and German Zamuel. She
continued in San Francisco where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with
Alonzo King's Lines Ballet and Dominican University as well as her
certification as a Gyrotonic® instructor. Since, she has danced and toured
as a freelance artist and choreographer with companies in New York,
Montreal, Colorado, San Francisco, and Europe.
After dancing in Teddy Forance’s
documentary 'Movement One', Corina moved to LA and has begun performing with
local companies including Invertigo Dance Theatre (Laura Karlin), MiMoDa (Yasha
Jacobs), The Movement Movement (Mecca Vazie Andrews), and Arrogant Elbow
(Sarah Elgart). Additionally she tours as choreographer for her own
productions and as a guest teacher for studios nationally.
Class Description:
Corina teaches a classically
structured ballet class, but encourages dancers to take the class with a
contemporary approach so that they may use the functionality of the
technique to empower their potential and strength in any movement they may
be undertaking.
