GENERAL immersion conservatory professional

EDGE is the center for Los Angeles dance and is home to the most reputable teachers and choreographers in the industry. EDGE provides the finest in commercial dance education with an extensive schedule, comprehensive curriculum and study options. Become immersed in a Los Angeles commercial dance scene that is sought after across the globe. Program terms of 3 months, 6 months and 1 year with an option to extend your program. Programs begin every other month: Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep and Nov. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and dancing at an intermediate level in one of the following disciplines: jazz, ballet, contemporary jazz, hip hop, jazz funk or tap. The program is available to US citizens, dual-citizens and those who qualify to study in the US without a student visa. A similar program for international students is coming in the near future. Each program includes 7 subject, 14 classes and 18-19 hours of instruction per week. Class styles include Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Contemporary Jazz, Modern Fusion, Theatre Dance, Cabaret, Breakin', Movement for Actors, Turns, Salsa, and Belly Dancing. Participants create their program with the assistance of an advisor. Program advisors are available throughout the program. The program is tracked and guided. Courses are graded Pass/Fail. Qualified participants receive a Certificate of Completion. Academic standing and eligibility for a Certificate are determined by the number of courses completed and the participant's abilities demonstrated at a final evaluation. Participant receives a written evaluation and course statements. Opportunity to be selected to perform in the annual EDGE show and be seen by dance agents, choreographers and the L.A. dance community.
