CATHERINE CONRAD Tap
Catherine Conrad (Dancer/Choreographer/Teacher/Studio Owner) is the proud owner and director of Impact Dance Center in Los Alamitos, Ca. Catherine’s love for dance and the performing arts started at the age of 2 at Kindorf Dancers in Cypress, CA under the direction of Nancy and Shawn Kindorf. At the age of 11, she made her debut performance with Jazz Tap Ensemble’s Caravan Project, under the direction of Lynn Dally, then went on to become a founding member of Orange County’s first youth tap company Sound Effects, under the direction of Christy Wyant-Hernandez. Catherine has appeared in numerous stage and television productions including Ford Amphitheatre’s Summer Calendar, KCET’s Dorothy Chandler’s Christmas Eve Celebration, Parris Mann’s Things Ain’t What They Used To Be, various KTLA promotions, and a myriad of community stage events. Catherine has been privileged to have studied extensively with the nation's greatest tap masters including Mark Mendonca, Sam Weber, Paris Mann, Mike Wittmers and the late Gregory Hines. Catherine has been the director of the regionally and nationally award-winning Impact Company/Kindorf Dance Company for the past 10 years. Many of her dancers have continued to pursue their careers in higher education dance programs and the commercial dance world. In addition to her studio work, Catherine also choreographs for various high school music, dance, and choral programs. Artistic Director, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Tiny Stars.
